Thoughts, fragments, and ideas.

A window of the process, experience, and reflection. Some entries are diagrams, others are scraps of models or lightbulb moments scribbled on napkins.

The best architecture grows from the ground up, intimately tied to people, place, and purpose. The kinds of spaces that linger in memory: a narrow footpath between homes, the way light catches on cedar shakes, the sound of gravel underfoot. These small moments guide my work more than any style or trend.

Stephen’s approach is rooted in historic patterns, walkable environments, and materials that age with grace. Buildings aren’t objects, they are backdrops for life, meant to be lived in, adapted, and loved. Whether it’s a neighborhood block or a 900 sq. ft. house, the person or people come first.

This sketchbook is where it all begins.
